Poem -

Under My Cloak of Darkness

Under my cloak of darkness, I had let myself go
Blood tears stained my cheeks

My tears were like a blood river in a silent forest
My river was loud as the howling of the wind
I know because at night in the forest it is lonely
I couldn’t hold them in anymore, losing my sight
My tears were like a fog covering the night sky

I wiped my blood stained eyes to see a clear world
Even though the world is full of darkness, I am not happy
We are brainwashed to believe we must live this way
If we don’t, we are all cast to the abyss

Which makes me want to shed blood
For the world is broken and so am I

The world definitely feels broken right now Matthew. When will we wake up and realise there is greater power and prospect through love, rather than hate

a good write
