Unfaithful
 
I see it deep within your eyes
A sadness you cannot disguise
 
His tongue has told you so many lies
Left you drowning in a sea of alibis
 
He has carelessly given his heart to another
Faithfulness is something you admire in a lover
 
His unfaithfulness is hard to forgive
When all you really wanted to do is live
 
He has taken his toll on your bleeding heart
And now your dreams are torn all apart
 
Just like a night bird he takes nocturnal flight
Leaving you victim to the darkness of night
 
Your whole world has been turned upside down
Your broken heart lies in pieces on the ground
 
Just like a beautiful butterfly with frozen wings
You can no longer enjoy life’s simpler things
 
Soon you are going to break free from his spell
Reclaim yourself from all the places that you fell
 
 Go for a walk with your umbrella in the pouring rain
Let the many tears from your eyes go down the drain
 
In this world try to be as one with yourself
No longer wear the chains of somebody else
 
Now you can find comfort in another’s arms
Someone who doesn’t do your soul harm
 
Spend hours praying and looking for the light
You seek answers from the star filled night
 
Allow your heart to be set free from it’s cage
Simply take the book and simply turn the page
