Unfaithful Seas

Unfaithful Seas

The boat embarked from Tranquil Shore
A fairer day not once before
It traveled through the peaceful seas
With patient, kindly, loving ease

Those seas were silent, young and new
No ripples 'neath the skies of blue
A brilliant dance on aqueous floor
'Mid gentle notes of hopeful score

Seemed nothing could defeat this day
The peace, the heart, the sun's array
But hidden swells began to brew
Beneath the dreams of golden hue

A callous cloud did breach the blue
And whispered words of sad miscue
And little ripples rose to hills
As vengance of life's heartless spills

She rocked the boat from crest to crest
Unsure of which ascent was best
Take the route you say you love,
Or ride this world's unfeeling shove

She took the path not born in faith
For fear of past's recurrent wraith
As she could not for once believe
That time would grant a great reprieve

And all their dreams, they died that day
She took her course to sail away
To find the strait that led her to
The essence that the world would view

And as the vessel faded 'way
The dawn broke on another day,
Perhaps a nod from up above,
It's shattered end read only, Love.

Hey Matt, it's Matt. Since no one ever comments on your poems, I will,
It's woodchuckian at best. It's horrific, miasmic, nauseating and smelly...and it's not very good either. When I was reading it, all I could think was, man, my spleen hurts. I vomited several times during it, and sniffed a yak's bum to refresh the odor in my nostrils. Other than that, it was decent.

Hi Bernadete! (Please add another ‘t’ to your name, as my spell check keeps changing it, and I think it might be easier for you to run down to the Bureau of Name Changes rather than me backspacing all the time. Thanks!!). M.

lol. I’m just joking, but this site is unbelievable! I mean, what is wrong with people??!! 200 people read it, and not one can say, nice poem, or hit the like button? It’s a crazy place, and society we live in.

This is an excellent poem about lost love. And I mean it, I don’t joke about how good a poem is if I don’t think it is. In my humble opinion this is your best to date.
Now, stop crying and rejoice about how beautiful this poem is.
Warm wishes,
Bernadete
P.S. Please stop crying, will you?

Marionette! You are also the greatest person in the world! If I could come over there and give you a giant hug, I would, but I can’t, so I’m having a procedure to elongate my arms by 10 feet a week, for the next 4 years. Upon that time, you should see a giant pair of long arms coming at you and you shall receive a long(well, 49 minutes, or so. Anything longer is considered molestation) hug, which will be me telling you how awesome you are.

Thank you my sweet Angel. M.
