Emerald Dreams

Emerald Dreams

Shirley, this is for you because you said you like love poems(not necessarily because I love you, although I do think your personality is amazing, and your heart is warm and kind, but I've never met you, lol. Just because you like to read love poems). Anyway, it's not very good, and doesn't portray any type of love very well, but pretend it does. It's about a love that hasn't happened yet, but he longs for. Sometimes I inadvertently fall in love with eyes, hopefully, sometime, they will fall in love back. Thanks.Ā Ā

I fell into your emerald eyesĀ
The single dream that never diesĀ
Was tho a warmth had entered meĀ
Like water mixed with summer breezeĀ

I ran my hands 'cross velvet skinĀ
Thru layered pleats of crinolineĀ
It seemed as though I touched a dreamĀ
A little flake of love agleamĀ

Our thoughts entwined in glowing gloryĀ
'Mid pages of a brilliant storyĀ
A fable steeped in loving songĀ
As doves rejoiced to sing along

I gently brushed your crimson lipsĀ
With ever longing fingertipsĀ
Soft and warm as summer sunĀ
Reflective of the gold He's spunĀ

I pray these thoughts will glimmer, too
Within the dreaming eyes of youĀ
For now I simply just admireĀ
The beauty of your emeral fire.Ā

lol well using a fellow poet for material? 🤣 I don't think everyone on here nor on the internet thinks of a me as a kind person some think I'm the iron witch on the broomstick and that's ok too. I'm always amazed when a romantic poem touches my heart and this one has too. I may go as far to say lyrics, and of course your poet notes are (very true to you Mathew) just be yourself and those who appreciate it will enjoy every last line as i do. Thank you Sir, to think I've touched another heart that has seen me makes me feel very warm and appreciated, through our true love of words can bring about all sorts of madness and mayhem and friendshipsĀ  🌹 šŸ’™Ā Ā

What a beautiful response, and review, you are surely the greatest, Shirley, and I have never seen you mean, or witchy, so I think that's a vicious rumor that you have spread about yourself! Thank you my beautiful friend!! Lots of love. M.Ā
