A Blind Nature

A Blind Nature

There was a world where everything was perfect

And being apart of this natural world was worth it

The grass was green; the sky was bluer than the sea

And each animal grazed and bonded with glee

Mother Nature would sit back and watch her land

Everything fit in perfectly, with no outlying strands

The animals remained with the ones of their kind

Never with another; Mother Nature would mind

There was an old goat, named Jack, who had a friend

A horse named Bella; they had friendship that’ll never end

They always walked together to the sunny meadow to graze

Mother Nature didn’t like this, and hoped it was just a phase

The meadow that Jack and Bella went to seemed to glow gold

The sunshine peaked through trees and flowers stood bold

Years went by, and Bella became frailer as she aged

She lost her sight in one eye, and never again would she engage

In a trip to the meadow with Jack, her greatest friendW

Which she thought the trip to the meadow wouldn’t happen again

Suddenly, Jack came over and walked by her sighted side

And lead her to the golden meadow, he would now become her guide

Bella was so happy to be able to enjoy this trip once more

Then she became fully blind, making things worse than before

It seemed as though Jack knew she was going through this distress

So he guided in front of her slowly, so she could hear each of his footsteps

Mother Nature grew angry; she never thought they could find a way

To solve the problems that she purposefully placed in their dismay

Her anger built up, and causing a horrific storm to come through

The wind blew strong, making trees fall and trapping Bella too

Jack seemed to sense that Bella was in trouble and in pain

So through the horrific storm and to the rescue he came

All the animals gathered and helped save Bella together

And they unraveled the fallen trees from the bad weather

Mother Nature was on her last straw, so she made a decision

A decision way worse than an old horse losing its vision

One day as Jack came to see Bella for another walk

He saw her lying cold and still, and Jack was shocked

He stroke his head on her, thinking at any moment she’d wake

But she still lied there, lifeless, and he felt his heart ache

Jack put his head down, saying goodbye to Bella, his friend

Knowing that their trips to the meadow finally came to an end

The forest was never the same as it once was before,

It’s outer beauty remained, but lost in its core.

Mother Nature tried to revive the happy life that once lived,

But no matter how hard she tried, only misery would give.

Now the animals remained with those of their own kind,

And life carried on, leaving memories of Jack and Bella behind.
