Unseen Forces

Sometimes I can feel it just outside
My awareness:
These unseen dangerous forces.
They lurk just beneath the surface
Of my troubled mind
And so a route to peace,
Although I seek it-
Is one I am unable to find.
 
Then strange feelings leave me
In an uncomfortable Mood
Pictures flash in my deepest dreams
Giving me the feeling
That there’s something’s wrong
And all is not as it seems.
 
That uncomfortable feeling, as
When your favourite show
Jumps the shark and betrays
Itself.  Nothing it quite what it seems.
You go to bed early to recuperate
And are haunted by menacing dreams.
 
Some people shame you and hurt you-
Then what do you do
When you know not what
Any outcome may be?
Unseen forces seem to control
Events.  How to behave
When you want to be unhindered and free?
 
Never quite sure if you’re right
Or you’re wrong
Never knowing who or what
To trust
It’s a dangerous one- way journey-
The passage of life
Growing old then to ashes and dust.
