Unsettling Days

It is a nightmare to awaken daily,

To the sights of another day.

To the sounds before me,

And the struggles that they give.

It awaits my delivery,

To the evil ahead.

Stares and screams surround me

As the day progresses, I wait.

I try and hide from you with little success

I try to shelter myself from your thoughts that I can see

It is a dream to stay asleep,

and close my mind for just one more hour.

I hear nothing as I sleep,

There are no sounds or struggles.

My mind stays peaceful,

As I shed your evil and rudeness from my day.

Shall I have a nightmare today?

Or just dream the day away?

The latter will please me,

So just leave me to dream.
