Poem -

Unspoken

What do you do when words are not enough?

And everything you feel is so raw and rough.

You can't get your words out so you stand there and stutter,

so unsure of yourself, so the words you try to mutter.

Afraid of what she will say,

you hope she won't run away.

You wish your thoughts would fall from your lips,

or maybe you could record and play them in little clips.

You look up, and your eyes meet.

Her gaze so soft yet like concrete.

Like Medusa she turns you to stone,

so beautiful, how she sits upon her throne.

And so again you fall to the ground and break,

giving up, you just lie there and ache.

All the words you wanted to say are left unspoken,

they are left shattered upon your lips, and broken,

Dead like the baby bird that falls from its nest,

abandoned and neglected it's laid to rest.
