Unwanted

I am the unwanted one
Born to one who hated me
Deceased spirit walking,
Soul without a home
Each day of my existence
Brings suffering and tears
Would I have been better off
Never being engendered?
Brought here against my will
Only to become victim to abuse:
Verbal, physical, emotional
My role is that of a scapegoat
Thrown around constantly
Like an ancient rag doll
My burden grows heavier
Until I shatter to pieces
Adversity murders me slowly
But I'm denied the option of escape
Others watch with satisfaction
While I languish by the hour
Smiling faces are a dire reminder
Of subjection to the world's chicanery
Wouldn't society be better off
If I'd never stepped foot on earth?
