Valentine

Valentine

Not for me a single rose,

a gentle kiss upon my nose

as you present my breakfast tray,

so lovingly prepared that day.

Not for me a special treat

or tender loving words so sweet

as we make love exquisitely

our souls surrendered willingly.

Not for me some pamper time

as you fulfill each whim of mine,

no scented bubbles in my bath,

no wordplay making both us laugh.

Not for me the candlelight

to bathe us as we dine that night,

no static crackle in the air,

no chemistry beyond compare.

Not for me the warm embrace

of lying with you face to face,

so close we steal each others breath,

for these things now belong to death.

As Valentines day ever nears

the only gift I'll have is tears.....
