Valentine's Day

A Valentine’s Day,
A bouquet of flowers,
A box of candy,
We waited long hours
To give you our love
The minutes like hours
The hours like days.

Our hearts reach out to you,
In the fullest at last
Like the highest of sails
Hung up on a mask.
You bring to our faces,
The gift of a smile
We ask for am inch
You give us a mile.

Can we ever repay you,
For all that you’ve done?
Why bother to ask
For an answer there’s none.
Take into your heart
Our feelings so small,
Cause that’s how they start,
The mountains so tall
