Vincent Says Goodbye

Vincent Says Goodbye

Inspired By Jai Masters

I suffer for my sanity on this starry, starry night

For years have I used a brush, to set all mankind free

But they have gazed upon my works, and said

โ€œThe man is crazy in his headโ€

Iโ€™ve given them my life and soul

But these critics choose not to me extol

My heart cries for itโ€™s love is spurned

My soul sobs for lessons learned

This last oil that I will paint today

Precedes my end with no restraint

For I needed you to hold me near

But I leave you now, allayed of fear

Interesting Larry, choosing to write this in the perspective of Mr. Van Goh, but I enjoyed this idea as do I admire art and what better artist and classic piece is Starry Night. Much love and peace to you fellow poet.

Hi Brother Poet Devon,

Thank you for your kind words. ย I' by trade, have been an art dealer for 45 years. ย Vincent Van Gogh has always interested me deeply. ย I have see several of his works in person at museums, and have read a lot about his life. ย Few people realize that his first calling was to be a priest, and the Catholic Church sent him to one of the poorest areas of France, where other postulates did not want to go. ย However, not only did he go there, but mesmerized its people. ย He also made several sketches of them, as is evidenced in his early works. ย Yet, after two years, when the church sent a couple of it's priests out there to judge his success, they said he was a failure. ย This could have had something to do with his fabulous creativity of drawing their subjects. ย Again, thanks for the compliment.

Peace and Love Brother,

Larry xxx
