Waiting on The Train
Suddenly, there I was
unable to say
just how much I've loved you
from birth until today
I squeezed your hand instead
with tears that fell like rain
I wanted so bad to tell you
I was just waiting on the train
So at the station I waited
until it would arrive
and with bag packed I boarded
on my way to eternal life
Watching through the window
as loved ones drifted away
At first I felt so sad
but then I felt okay
Since where these tracks led on
brought me to this place
that God prepared for me
and His amazing grace

Thank you so very much for those words of praise. I really do appreciate it. At times I find myself hesitant to put myself out there, so to speak, so your words mean a lot to me. Thank you for that and for the encouragement you might not have known you were giving.

Hi Jeanine Q- M This is beautiful!
I wrote a poem some months ago of a dream I had about loved ones
who had passed who were on a train I would love for you to read it

Welcome to Cosmo
Best wishes Debs
Hello Deb, I would love to read your poem, I Had a Dream. I wrote this because it seemed to comfort my loved ones to think of the loss of their father as waiting for a train after he was taken off of life support. So I wrote this poem for them. Thank you for sharing with me and for letting me share with you.

Jeanine,
A trip we all, will have to look forward to taking after life, whether we were prepared with our bags packed or not.....Thank you for the ticket to have aboard this destined trip.......Just be reassured, that there is light, at its tunnels end, along with the loved ones, whom have passed before us.......Thanks for the heart felt presentation into the (sorrows), of your heart.....Jim
You're right there is a light, and your comment was a light to me, Thank you for that Jim.

Jeanine,
Quite welcome are you my friend....You explained it very well and with the complete care, (only) a strong mother, could surrender, to her little ones.... I commend you dearly..I had the dubious duties, to take one of my brothers off of life support, due to brain cancer..Not an easy thing to do..Take Care..Jim
terrific write and the image you use is spot on, you captured this ethereal hopeful tone although the narrative clearly depicts death, impressive! hate to say 'I enjoyed' considering the subject, but then again where there is 'hope' there is a kind of joy to celebrate, so I join in the celebrating a very organic slice of poetic comfort food...excellent work poet
You are Spot On using the term "Celebrate" since this poem was used at a Celebration of Life ( instead of a funeral) for the person who inspired this poem. I'm so please that you enjoyed it and felt hope. I'm flattered and sincerely appreciate the compliment. This one is close to my heart.
