WALK FREE

I was lost in the darkness
I just didn't know
That I was free in that moment
But I couldn't see to let go
I'm free in every moment
To set the compass of my heart
For the good and for the best
And from it, never part
But my highest of intentions
Can't change what I see
So I  take a deep breath 
Until I once again, feel free
I'm learning to hold unto peace
How to self regulate
To let go of expectations
As I quietly sit and wait
Despite my circumstances
Despite what I feel and see
To let go and trust how things turn out
I'm learning to walk free
I carry a lamp in the darkness
That others too, may see
What once kept us in the darkness
Can now teach us to walk free
