Barefoot

Barefoot

Cacti in every direction with long sharp needles all around

injury and pain abounds.

Spines penetrating my flesh to the bone

In agony I suffer alone.

No one to hear my screams

one breath away from death it seems.

A slumbering child is not allowed to dream.

The abuser lives redeemed.

Barefoot walking through this hellish desert

I  dare not miss place a foot.

though my deepest trust has been took.

Multiple trauma by near suffixation

and rape endured.

Professionals have confirmed.

Horrific thoughts torment a lonely soul.

that no one it seems can console.

Left alone to die in my bed

I awoke in sheets of red.

A little girl still lays torn apart.

I'm still trying to pick up the pieces of her heart.

She cries alone.

I live with memories that frighten me to the bone.

The little girl within still struggles to survive.

May the good Lord make her tears subside.
