~~Walking out from the circle of Narcissus

~~Walking out from the circle of Narcissus

Once, I thought it avant-garde, to be a stone;
And impress you with my cold indifferent tone
But you’ve already sipped me like a lingering kiss
And I can’t fool you with my pretentiousness
.
You saw much more than I wanted to show you
How in your eyes my shackles loosened and fell
All along, I considered myself a very good liar;
Breathing in the miasma of my delusional spell
.
Maybe I was weak with pride, maybe possessed
 Like Narcissus; imprisoned by my own reflection;
 But he never knew the light of your love, and your
 Knowing eyes, echoing me to your sweet freedom

Hi Christopher Correia,

Great write, I love the lines below, my applause, my five stars for your verse,

Maybe I was weak with pride, maybe possessed
 Like Narcissus; imprisoned by my own reflection;
 But he never knew the light of your love, and your
 Knowing eyes, echoing me to your sweet freedom

Regards & Love

Hey Cherie, how was your bible study?  What are you guys studying?  Hey when you get a chance check out this book called, Preparation for the Final Crisis, by Fernando Chaij, my study group meets every second Sabbath to read this one, we've been together now for about 3 years?  Rotating homes, reading different books, having a bit to eat and getting into some heated discussions at times....and oh yeah, been reading my book also; got 60 pages done last night, it made me laugh; I like it, it sounds weird but I've not read it all the way through before....thanks for commenting on this poem, it's a bit sombre in places, but palatable....yes I really don't write a lot of 'new' poetry these days, maybe a couple a week, and if I don't like them I won't post, not saying anything, that's just how I think...yes glad you picked up on 'knowing eyes'  def. seeing through your soul...felt a bit challenged to try a write on the topic of 'legends' that is an interesting subject bye the way, whoever came up with; cheers, might try writing another one and see how it turns out...hey thanks for non generic comment, sis; sorry being 'dark' all comments are appreciated, lol...cheers

Hi Williamsji,

this is my third attempt to reply to your comment, my computer is going haywire on me, thank you so much my friend, and yes appreciate you liking that column you pull quoted, Narcisuss is very interesting mythological character with lots of layers; was trying to fit the Legends theme as well, appreciate the slap on the back encouragement, it's like finding Yukon Gold brother, cheers
