Wall

A barrier that seems
So simple and small,
That only creates
A small separation.

Although it feels
Much more significant,
Like it's forming
An unbeatable distance.

It's so thin,
Yet seems thick.
It's in my grasp,
Yet fully out of reach.

This space between us
That keeps you away,
Could take me my life
To get back to your side.

No matter how hard
I try to break through,
You keep building it up
And undoing my work.

I want you by my side
Where we can talk it all over,
But you won't let me through
To your reasonable end.

You won't let it go,
You won't break the wall,
Because you're too afraid
Of what's on the other side.

You're blinding yourself
Through hatred and betrayal
So much that I can't
Ever get over the wall.

Together we can,
We can break this tough wall.
And all it takes now
Is the strength to forgive it all.
