Wander

Wander

I wander here, I wander there,
I wander without wondering where,
The road the path will dare,
To carry this wandering fool,
For whom the world seems to unspool,
Enticing, inviting to make wander the rule,
A wanderer finds the world both caring and cruel,
Yet more often joy than misery finds,
Wanderers who resolve to open their minds,
Striking that which restrains and binds,
Us to motionless and stationary life of all kinds,
Comfort, security and content are naught,
But the stuff that wanderer's souls will rot,
I, by such snares, am caught
But my ropes and chains are not yet so taught,
So I shall wriggle and struggle free,
Whenever a wander is revealed to me,
Even for but a minute, and hour or three,
I shall wander in wonder at what I see,
