Much More Than a Kiss
What makes a kiss,
More than a meeting of lips,
Causes my stomach to twist,
Filling my heart with bliss,
Unable to resist,
Hoping only that it will persist
As part of my maturation,
I’ve learned to call it infatuation,
Which is more emotional evasion,
To avoid further abrasion,
But the answer to the equation,
Would be to wear the truth Emblazon,
To accept that this could be something,
Remarkably like or approaching,
That for which we are all searching,
Stumbling, fumbling and lurching,
Hunting and chasing and encircling,
Even in the dark it is sparkling,
We are seeking a companion, yet more,
Someone to show us the way and open the door,
To shake us and quake us down to our core,
To give us the courage to rear up and roar,
To lift up our souls so that we might soar,
To help us see what it’s all for,
Is this that?
Too soon may haps,
To state as fact,
Yet time does elapse,
These feelings last,
Is this love?
Perhaps...
