Poem -

War

Amongst the fields of poppies,
Where beautiful souls found peace.
There are secrets hidden and buried,
Amongst the flowers, I believe.

Everyone still remembers,
The torture and the bloodshed.
There’s a special day in November,
When we pray for those who bled.

They were forced to face horrors,
Witness unimaginable evil.
But only once, it was not,
How horrendously unbelievable.

To wager a war, to stand and fight,
To actually think it be true?
Hold up your hand and say it’s right,
I,
Dare,
You.
