WASHING MY HANDS

This is a minute poem. It comprises 60 syllables divided into 3 verses, each of 20 syllables and each verse divided into 4 lines of 8,4,4,4 syllables.

WASHING MY HANDS

He's known this was to be His fate

Love's turned to hate.

They want Him dead

Scourge Him I said.

They see Him as a blasphemer

An arch schemer

A man to fear

His time draws near.

Claudia has tried to warn me

Please set Him free

Loud is their cry

Kill, crucify.

Minute poems are very strict, I applaud you for the effort. It worked beautifully, Bernie.

Love the layout though I didn't bother counting... 😁 I love the rhyme the pace
the offhand title, how the narrator inserts himself into the 'pack' and the use of Claudia without any further explanation. Everything I personally like in a poem all here... x
