Water Sprite

Just for a moment
A line blurs from the sky
Bright in the dark
Torn through crushing cloud
A glimpse of beyond
Almost seen.

A herald to the break
The roar of fading, blackened skies
But, just for the moment
The line only bends
Merely a moment
Yet a moment is all it takes
Something slips in
Form lost in translation
Broken apart into countless shards
Touching as far as curiosity spreads
A bubble without for the world within
Silencing the noise
Discordant human din

Just for a moment
As the line was thinned
The spirit existed
A joyous, ephemeral thing
Torn apart by unreality
Now its tears fall softly upon the earth
But no sadness held within
Wherever they touch life will spring
For the water sprite
Just for a moment
The water sprite
Lived.
