The Waves of Tortuga Volume 2

The man we rescued told his tale

And as he did the crew turned pale

The tale unfolded I did spy

Sheer madness in it's tellers eye

Not that of man who'd been distressed

But the gaze of man who was possessed

His pupils blackened his skin turned green

Horrors we had never seen

I knew that when his eyes did blacken

He'd been spellbound by the Kraken

I heard my crewmate's desperate calls

As his arms turned to tentacles

Out at sea they could not run

The figure slayed them one by one

The scene was of a violent hell

Created by the Kraken's spell

Swiftly I abandoned fear

And to the waters thrust my spear

Its point did kill the lurking beast

The figure from his spell released

The figure fell and in disaster

Died along with his late master

I saw my crew dead in the sea

I wished the beast had taken me

I do not boast I seek no gory

I live in fear and tell this story
