We all have a friend

We all have a friend
Who's sterling and shine
It slices your skin and draws the red lines.

I glance at the several scars that I have got over the years, but I can feel then screaming out as well as my fears.

It gives us relief We need the sensation But we keep it a secret
We hate the attention

The beautiful clear red lines, they become a burden on me. But I still do it anyway, because I'm tired of life.

Call me a psycho or a weird, but l know why I do it, they all know where they belong yet I still search for a place where I belong.

I veil the scars under jackets and sleeves, to my loved ones the cuts stay unseen.

I pretend that I'm fine, but no one knows the truth. But sometimes I  slip and the cracks begin to show.
