We Are All Flowers

We Are All Flowers

We are all flowers.
We sprout from a seed that is buried in
Mother Earth. We are being watered and
Taken care of until the day, where we
Sprout from the ground and see what life is for
The first time. We start growing and growing,
And growing, and growing. During those times,
We go through struggles to find out what we
Really are. We may be a sunflower
That reaches the sun in the day of hope
That we may complete our goal every day.
We may be a Venus Fly Trap. And if
they are attacked, they will retaliate.
We may be a rose. They are deceiving,
Alluring. It’s beauty bringing us
Towards them. If caught in their tempting trap,
You may be hurt. We may be hyacinths,
With many meanings; many different traits.
Once we find out who we are, we will start wilting.
You’ll be smaller, with your petals falling,
Your stems slouching, your color fading off.
And soon, you die. You are all shriveled up.
However, although you’re dead, your beauty
Is still there. And know, that Mother Earth will
Never forget you.
