We Are But Wax

Our candlelit journey begins at our birth
We’re Ignited with love from our point of creation.
 We travel through life and exist on this earth
like a candle to shine and to promise salvation

We all need the darkness to see candlelight,
no matter how dark all your days might become.
The light from your candle will always be bright
all other flames start from the lighting of one

When young we’re a candle, the wax  straight and  strong
our wick burns a flame that is always alight.
The older we get the more worn we become,
as the wax melts the flame doesn’t burn quite so bright

Your candle ,like you, has to fight to survive,
If left by a window a breeze could snuff out.
But flicker it will and remain just alive
and  spread like a beacon, its light all  about

Be like the best candle you ever could be.
Be the light in the life of your friends,
live your life as a candle , your  flame burning  free
burn your candle of life from both ends!
