Respite

Seeking respite

from the problems of life,

its problems and complications,

he wandered down to the river

the birds were singing

and the ducks were swimming

in the warm and sunny weather.

He sprawled out on a bench

and bathed in the sun

dreaming of peace

and then began

letting worries go

in the sunny glow.
