Wee beastie

Wee beastie

When wakin up the stany road, up by cambie hoose
I came eye to eye with a Great beastie,
much bigger than a moose.

It's Poor lang shanks were shakin, like jeely in a bowl.
The beasties eyes were as big as orbs, and as black as coal.

It's lugs stuck oot at angles with antlers at top it's heid
When it moved its lanky shanks
It's ribs were clear to see, in need of a gid feed.

it sprung into the harvested roots
Then over a shaded burn
Out of site it pranced away, I knew it would never return.
