Weirdo
Isolated
Alone
Stay back stare
Angery grown
Different from the rest
Talking of things that they don't know
Ignore her she's a creep, a freak
A weirdo
Brand names and labels
Why would I even care
Head down in the halls
Melting into my chair
Never watched your shows
You never read my books
No chatting by the lockers
Pointing and laughing and dirty looks
Different from the rest
Talking of things that they don't know
Ignore her she's creep, a freak
A weirdo
A little older now
A little bolder and wow
How they love the quirks
Being strange sure has its perks
They all want to be odd enough
To be there for our next adventure our next trip
High school ended
And I watched everything flip
Fascinated and captivated
Everyone wants to be close to me
Everyone wants to be so unique
So original so free
Different from the rest
Talking of things that they don't know
Check her out, get in good with her
The strange chick the weirdo
Don't worry little geeklings
Outcast and freaklings
Highschool will be over soon
They will have their feet on the ground
But you're gonna' to fly to the moon

Hey TWILLA!!......what's so impressive about this (for me)..... is NOT just the immaculate timing in your delivery ......but the use of 'lingo' and 'slang' references that help your readers to have blind faith in your opinions & insights into your subject matter...... the truth here is obvious..... the author knows PRECISELY "WHAT"S UP!!"....... and THAT!!.... is worth its weight in friggin' Gold!!......a most EXCELLENT write dear poet sister!!....... The 'Weirdo'...." the odd man out" is most often the one who goes beyond basic education and blazes new trails!!.......PINNED!!.....great work girlfriend ......apologies for not being around much lately!!...... your friend and admirer!!......T xo ??✴✴❤❤✴✴??
Tony, my dear fellow weirdo! Knowing that you read and felt this one especially means the world to me. It's for those like us, still struggling through the tough years that I wrote this. I remember crying on the floor in a corner of my room begging to just be like everyone else and be happy. Now, you couldn't get me to want to be "normal" for all the riches in the world or even for a perfect and happy life. Happy is good, but fulfillment doesn't usually come from a perfectly happy and satisfied existence.
And, To you as well, as always, thank you for your time, your support and your imput.
Hey, Twilla...
All artists are just a bit "weird" or "off", I think.
At least the really good ones are.
That's how we're able to become authors.
Coincidences, synchronicity, serendipities, encounters with strangers, inner nudges—we are always being guided if we pay close enough attention.
Poetry is a wonderful and timely contribution to our changing landscape of thought and evolution.
Of being co-creators of our world.
Of bearing gifts passed through the ages, of rediscovering our latent magic, of stepping up to passion and purpose, to answering the call.
Here's to daring to be different...

I actually had that quote as my Facebook cover photo at one point!
Sorry it's taken so long to reply. Was going through some things. Trying to wrestle down my sanity and get a good grip on it before I lost it for good.Â
Yeah, I'm a very proud weirdo. Our species needs many followers to survive, but it needs ones like us to alter the path when the unexpected happens and the built in evolutionary ways no longer apply.
As always, Thank you, Dean for your time, support and input.Â
