Poem -
Whaler's Tale
Pray to gods, blest exhale,
Harness current, set sail,
Fairwinds may waft abound,
Upon briny crest acrowned.
Wayward wisped clouds
Steely wool shrouds,
Indigo imbues salty seas,
Awash foam-kist lees.
Cast harpoons epic scale,
Quicken batten-down assail.
Return to landlubber true,
Afore by chance laments you.
Come hither weary seamen,
Implores ethereal siren demon
Parched soul abashed by wake,
Endless waters, none to partake.
Sunken low to barnacle bed,
Adieu to thee, seafarer stead.
Maudlin sodden bone,
Needless cenotaph-stone.
Β Tis fodder to fathomless sea.
Poseidon heeds no craven plea.
Brave waters, alas prevail,
Adrift on a whaler's tale.

I'm finding several (so far) most excellent poems to read aloud today!!β¦..This truly stands out when you read it aloud.....Totally immersing the reader with that wonderful 'seafaring terminology'!!β¦...I had to read this to my roommate aloud.....and use an old seaman's 'scoundrel-like' voicing to my accent!!...lol....Truly a pleasure my friend!!β¦...ALL STARS!! & PINNED!!β¦...well done!!β¦...LOVE & ROCKETS!......T xoΒ : )

Do you know I absolutely love the sea and have been lucky enough to grow up with on my doorstep but it is something IV never written about much. I think it is that I think the sheer power and wildness and beauty of it are beyond me....however I am up to a challenge so I will try. What do we have to do just write and post referencing you ??
