Poem -
Whaler's Tale
Pray to gods, blest exhale,
Grasp current, set sail,
Fairwinds may blow abound,
Upon briny crests crowned.
Windswept squall shrouds,
Obelisks of gloomy clouds
Vast chaos on opulent seas,
Harness mistral-breeze.
Cast harpoons to stout whale,
Batten-down, harried set sail.
Navigate to landlubber true,
Afore by chance misses you.
Come hither crestfallen seamen,
Croons bonny Lorelei demon
Parched sailor craves her ache,
Endless waters but none to partake.
Sunken low to barnacle stead,
Fare-thee-well plotted abed.
Water-sodden, kelpie bone,
No need for ornate stone.
Fore tis fodder to briny seas.
Poseidon heeds no craven pleas.
Brave seawaters assail,
Cast forth whaler's tale.
