What a Cruel World

What a Cruel World

She keeps her heart with her everywhere, not letting it see the light.
She hides it
Conceals it.
Afraid of what they'll think.
As time passes, a numbness starts to grow inside
Soon it'll reach her heart
What a cruel world.

Then comes another
Walking through life with the same numbness
Not letting their heart see the light
As they meet
They struggle to share their hearts
For they lay in the dark
What a Cruel World.

Their hearts align
And the numbness slowly fades
The warm sun sheds light to the dark
She takes her hand and smiles upon her.

Their hearts align.

A sweet and, ultimately, heartwarming story told in beguilingly tumbling phrases.
