What an ordeal ?
I have my driving test today
God knows how it will go
But I’m pooping my pants
I am so full of woe ?
This is going to be my first one
But I’d really love to pass
Then I will save up for a motor
Oh how life will be a gas
I’m sat in the drivers seat
Its time that I must start
Mr Clever mans my passenger
He looks like an old fart ?
“Tap tap proceed” he says to me
Ah well its here we go
“Drive on to first junction please”
I start the engine like I know
I feel the jitters up my spine
My hands are feeling sweaty
I really hope I don’t pass out
Just like my Aunty Betty ?
“Next left” says he, “ then stop you will do a three point turn”
Crikeys, I think this is the worst I’ve ever felt I do yearn
Ah well I’ve done my best
My exam is now complete
I really hope I don’t leave dampness
When I get up off this seat?
“Well Mrs Tait” he says alloud
“That really wasn’t so bad,
I am pleased to say you’ve passed you can be so proud”
Woohoo I can’t contain myself
I phone my Dad & Mam
They congratulate me & I say How happy I really am
I’m home again it wasn’t far
I open my front door
My parents are there with huge grins standing on the floor
They shout “Well done Jill”
You really are a star ⭐️
So follow us and go outside

I remember my driving test and I got a hundred on my first written I thought how great is this...
I remember the first car my Dad got me and I was convinced he was trying to kill me...
I told him to take the car because it was a manual start and it was so small a Mouse could have run me over...
I thanked him and he was able to get his money back...

Sounds like you've got cool parents. I distinctly recall that when I managed to pass my driving license test decades ago (and by the skin of my teeth), my parents forced me to drive a vehicle which was reminiscent of a "Flintstonemobile" for around a year or so before I could scrape together enough cash for an upgrade. It must be nice to find a new Beemer awaiting in the garage. (HA) Anyway, cool, clever poem. Me likey.

wasn’t actually me I took me test 40 yrs ago :) n never had a car after passed 2 nd time around lol :( this was just wishful thinkin hun xx
