What are We?

Between Friends and Something More.

What are We?

We’ve been friends for so long, but something feels strange,
A bond that I can’t quite explain, a tug, a subtle change.
Laughter comes easy, and so do the smiles,
But when we’re together, it lingers for miles.
We talk for hours, share secrets, and dreams,
But there’s this quiet tension in all that it seems.
Is it just fun? Is this all we are?
Or is there something more, hiding behind the stars?
Friends with benefits, maybe, but that doesn’t feel right,
There’s something deeper, something in the night.

I see the way you look at me, and I know I feel it too,
A spark that ignites when I’m close to you.
We joke and we laugh, but our hearts say more,
What are we doing, walking this line to the door?
I’ve moved at your pace, been patient, played it cool,
But now I’m asking, is this love or just a game we’re meant to lose?
Are we afraid to face what’s been growing inside?
Because what if we’re more than just two hearts that collide?
So tell me, what are we? What do we call this?
Is it more than just moments, or is it all just a twist?

We’ve crossed lines we said we wouldn’t dare,
But every touch, every glance, shows we still care.
You get jealous when I talk about other girls,
And I can feel your breath when you’re in my world.
I catch you looking, then quickly look away,
Is this how we’re meant to stay, or do we need to say?
But we’re just friends, right? Just a casual thing?
Yet we hold hands, laugh close, like we’re wearing the same ring.
It’s easy to say it’s nothing, but the tension’s clear,
When you walk away, I just wish you’d stay near.

So what are we really, if not more than we pretend?
Are we just friends, or lovers who can’t comprehend?
We act like a couple, but we’re stuck in between,
Fearing the truth, afraid of what we mean.
We’re so good at hiding behind these walls we’ve built,
But when I see you smile, I can’t help but feel the guilt.
I want us to be real, not stuck in this place,
To face what’s here, to stop the chase.

I’m tired of wondering if this is just some game,
Of pretending we’re fine when we’re feeling the same.
So tell me, what are we? Can we just be free?
Is this love, or is it something we refuse to see?
I can’t keep pretending, I don’t want to ignore,
The way we’ve danced around it, wanting something more.
Are we just friends, or something that’s growing?
I can’t keep hiding what’s already showing.

So what are we really, if not something deeper?
More than just moments, more than just keepers.
I need to know what’s in your heart, what’s in your mind,
Are we just friends, or is there a love we’re too scared to find?
Tell me, what are we? I need to know,
Before we let this slip away, before we let it go.

We’ve shared so many laughs, so many late nights,
But each time I leave, I’m left with doubts, with fights.
Do you feel it too, or am I the only one,
Caught in this limbo, afraid of what’s to come?
We act like we’re fine, but the silence is loud,
I want to know what we are, no more hiding behind the crowd.
We’ve crossed so many lines, but still, we wait,
Wondering if we’re meant to love, or if we’ve sealed our fate.

But I can’t keep pretending this is just a fling,
When your touch lingers, and I hear your heart sing.
I need to know, I can’t live in this doubt,
Are we just friends, or what is this about?
We’re so close, yet so far, in this space we’ve made,
Hiding our feelings, afraid to invade.
But we can’t keep ignoring the truth we both know,
So tell me now, where do we go?

I get lost in your eyes, in the things we don’t say,
Wondering if you feel the same way.
I can’t keep living in this space, half in and half out,
Caught in a world of questions, of fear and doubt.
Are we just friends, or is there something more?
Are we waiting for a sign, or standing at the door?
I need to know what we are, what this could be,
Because deep down inside, I’m scared of losing you and me.

So tell me, what are we? Just friends or something new?
I can’t keep pretending, and neither can you.
This is more than just laughs, more than just games,
There’s something here that we can’t just name.
So let’s take the step, let’s face what we feel,
Because this connection we share is way too real.
Are we just friends, or something that’s grown?
Tell me, what are we, so we’re not left unknown?

We’ve danced around this, never quite saying the truth,
Always circling back, afraid of what’s in the booth.
But this silence is heavy, and it’s wearing me thin,
Because every time I leave, I want to come back again.
Are we just friends, or something more undefined?
Tell me, is this a love that we’re too scared to find?
I can’t keep living in this world of doubt,
I need you to help me figure it out.

So what are we, if not more than this space?
Are we afraid of love, afraid to face the race?
Because what we have feels like it’s meant to stay,
But only if we stop pushing it all away.
Tell me, what are we? Just friends or something to keep?
I can’t hold onto this secret, and I can’t let it sleep.

This is painful!!’ The protagonist of your story has the heart of fire.
Run…tell her!  For god sake, kiss her and tell her.
