What is life?

Is the world a dark and lonely place,
Where only the best can win life's race?
Or is it friendly happy and light,
And we, ourselves, make it a fight?
What is happiness, or love, or life?
Is it what we start with, or a reward for strife?
Is pain, is lonliness, is death all we really get?
Or is it a mix, but one part we forget?
Is a life set out for us, a course we can't help but run?
Or is it what we make me make it, sad, happy, boring, or fun?
Is it all how we take it, whatever we make life be,
Or are some destined to cry or laugh, some blind to wonders others see?

"...some blind to wonders others see?" Beautiful line. Beautiful end.
You ask questions to which you have no real answers. Not sure if that makes you a poet or a philosopher? Or both??
Nah...you're a poet! Philosophers always think they have the answers!! Even the good ones, like Schopenhauer; who once said, "Talent hits a target others can't hit. Genius hits a target others can't see." Which echos your last line here rather nicely, eh?!
I don't know if there are any real answers. But I like the way you ask the questions.
