What Really Happened

I remember when I held the door open for you,

And we both knew where our Destiny lied

And to my fortune it’s by your side

Or you by mine- who knows?

And you said the words and sealed our fate

You said it didn’t matter about age,

Or orientation- on Plato’s page-

And when you looked into my eyes

And beauty streamed from you to me,

My soul grew wings and now I see.

What I saw in your eyes drove me to insanity,

Too much history my friendship said

Not enough I think in my head,

So let’s make tourist history the day

We leave,

Let’s make history because

We can see the light

Of anamnesis,

And that’s my creed

That’s my thesis,

You wonder what I talk about?

I say love is a serious mental disease-

Your soul understands this,

Your mind has no idea.
