Poem -

What's It Going To Be?

Just as a Butterfly's wings,

Can cause the wind to form a Hurricane.

We too are the sum of all things,

We are what we are, along with the Sun and the Rain.

So far away, so distant and remote,

Yet we feel their deeds.

We live by the script they wrote,

Possibilities made, here now, filling our needs.

Each action, so tiny,

So seemingly small.

Barely anyone noticed,

Hardly noting anything at all.

They did their job well,

Passing on the baton.

Though they no longer dwell,

Through us they live on.

It's up to us now.

It's truly our turn.

Let them reap, what we sow.

Let them know, we too did learn.

Generation after Generation,

Depositing into the account.

From Hunter Gatherers to Nations,

Continually climbing the mount.

What will be our legacy?

Will we mend our ways, as we must?

It's up to us what is to be,

Do we leave them life, or only dust?
