The Sum of All Things

I can stay here all night.

I've no need to close my eyes.

I can wait till the morning light,

Awaiting the day's surprise.

I've really got no plans.

Just been drifting on my own,

Left my footprints in many sands.

Been a long time since I've been home.

So how has life treated you?

Did you ever see your dreams?

To yourself, have you been true?

Or is this really what it seems?

You once talked of the Moon and Mars.

Now all I see are your drops of tears.

Did you ever reach the stars,

Or is this the sum of all your fears?

Was it really all that bad?

Why have creases replaced your smiles?

You seem so very sad.

Please, don't tell me these are your last miles!

As long as you're breathing,

There's always hope.

Spend time with new thoughts seething,

I'll be there to help you cope.

Never give up, never quit,

Keep going don't give in.

Take your time, just a tiny bit.

Don't give in to the ultimate sin!

Please say you'll stay with me.

Tell me this is not what it seems.

Just one last time, think how happy we can be.

You're the reason I came home.

You're the sum of all my dreams!
