Innocence

When?

The innocence of youth.
From which we should all desire.

For this world,
Is nothing but cruel
To those of pure heart.

Crushed dreams 
And little self-worth.
The papers and pads tell us...

You’re not enough,
You need more,
You’re happiness is contingent
Upon the things you own. 

When will enough be enough?
When will I know who I truly am,
Exempt of my earnings.

When will we stop all the hate,
All the shame
All the guilt.

When?
