When Bad Times End…

When Bad Times End…

I sat in the parking lot

Waiting...

I heard the gates open

I turned my head to see her standing there

Her hair all a mess

Her arms hidden by long sleeves

It's been 6 months since I've seen her

I step out of my car

Hands shaking heavily

She stared at me and I stared back

The nurse walked back in the hospital

Her brown eyes locked on mine

She dropped her bag, tears starting to spill from her eyes

She ran toward me, lightning fast and hugged me tight

I ran my fingers through her hair and whispered softly

"See? I told you the bad times end."
