When Death Calls

Death stalks the darkened halls of the hospitals,
He cruises the highways and back roads of the countryside,
He prowls the concrete canyons of the cities,
Like a predator anxiously anticipating his prey,
His icy breath, like a whisper in the night calls,
Calls like a lover to his next tryst, " Come to me! Come to me!,
Come my weary friend, quake you not in fear of me,
For am I only here, to bring you safely home,
Come my precious little one, you'll never be alone,
My strong right arm extended out, is ever at your side,
Through the cares and strife of this dark night,
no longer must you stride,
My touch is warm oh fretful one, come shelter in my arms,
Embrace me too my trembling child, I'll keep you from life's harms,
As we draw close let me dispel, all traces of your fear,
Now see my face and feel your smile, spread wide from ear to ear,
Now all can see, you do know me, and have no cause to fear,
Eternal peace is my gift to thee, It's truly is my dear".
