When God Cries

When a guitar strum is not enough 
When your only fix is to light then puff
When the moonlight seems hidden 
And all hope becomes forbidden 

That's when God cries. 

When you shut your eyes to hide away 
When you fear for life & another day 
When you try only for a hidden sake 
When his only son died on a stake 

That's when God cries. 

When we try so hard but don't succeed 
When we get what we want 
not what we need 
When we feel so lost 
And can't even breathe 

That's when God cries. 

When the devils horns are behind the clouds 
When he fills our mind full of doubts 
When we follow down the wrong path 
When Satan traps us with his wrath 

That's when God cries. 

When he sees us crying before we sleep 
When he feels our lost and broken dreams 
When we lose our loved ones 
And lay them down 
When he sees our lost but hopeful frowns 

That's when God cries.
