What Has Just Begun
He gives his all every day just to bring us down
He is the master of turning smiles into frowns
Causing sickness, sadness and mooring
Casting lures, setting traps
Making the compass turn in our maps
"It's a great offer, a really good job"
Do you still think that, as you sit alone and sob?
Because the offer wasn't good, it didn't hold the benefits they convinced you it would.
Because you had to work late, and so you missed the meeting, you say "it's just this time" but that's Satan's powers feeding
And because "it's not like that, between him and I, We're just friends!"
Ah, but, that's not where the story ends.
Because you're missing the meeting again, at work late with him. And he's bringing you flowers, you're talking for hours
But it's soon you'll discover, bad guys don't always wear the cape. Sometimes normalcy is his cover. So he left you alone, he has what he wants. Now he won't even pick up the phone.
You're left here alone
The cold empty apartment
With no treasures, and no love to be shown
Now the curtains are drawn
The sun can't come in
The telephone rings again and again
The collectors trying to find
Someone who's still in reasonable state of mind
So you turn to the book that you've hidden under the table
The book that you've held since the day you were able
It's been here for ages, yet it's only now that you decide to turn it's pages
But morning shall come, with the rise of the sun
He says "Please, the fight has only begun"
Only with persistence may it be won.
