WHEN I FALL

WHEN I FALL
Ricardo Antonio Garcia
I fall down to my knees and weep
for the Sun has not risen since they passed.
Earth had stopped revolving
the day they walked to the other side
transformed by the Light
and the promise of God in Heaven.
Feeling them near
the character, laughter and joy
sets my life apart of its happenings
and their energy
is what drives my imagination.
I fall down to my knees in a settlement
aligning the planets in my universe
like a gently rocking boat on a quiet lake.
Transmuting thoughts knock
and I open the door to their once upon a time
and simply fall to my knees, and cry.
The feel and touch of them
abhorrently creates an animosity toward life
regretting that time is short
and into its envelope we will all disappear.
What I would give to see them again.
I fall to the ground in my disparity
because there are days that become significant
and I feel them breathing in me.
Does shame draw its colors upon us and stain
or dilute the reality of this pain?
Once a child, as we once where a child
the swing rides thrust there images in our eyes
torturing us with tears
and all the sublime and heartfelt years.
Youth creates a shield, a room
without windows to think about what I do now.
I rise from the ground and know God has touched me
for the solace of these wisdoms
speak a disheartening but secure word.
How the things possessed
separate us from thinking about the Spirit
and what rises and falls.
Lets think about whom you have loved
and unfortunately still love
as the embers of their existence still burns.
