Poem -

When I was King

When I was King

Once all the bells were ringing
Once when my heart was singing
All the colored flags unfurled
When I was king of the world

That was when the castle was mine
That was when the sun would shine
As I walked by the crowd would sing
Shouting for me when I was king

All I know is it was me to blame
When you left it was never the same
I stand in the streets all alone
Sad and lonely on the cobblestones

No more kingdom - I can’t look behind
There will never be another you to find
Now I beg in the street’s, I used to own
When I was king sitting on my throne.
When I was king of the world
