Where Roses Lie

Life nurtured in rose petal hands,
Succumbing to each ruby quilt
With gentle replies to harsh demands
That cull the flower’s guilt.
Â
Watering is easy in heavy rain,
And flowers grow without a fear.
Then every root the rose should gain
Shall be watered with a tear.
Â
The golden apple in the sky
Unleashes flames upon white cloud
And after time the soil will dry,
The rose will die to crimson shroud.
Â
The life inside will gently flow
As if the moon had called its name
Then when it lands, life’s love will know,
The soil will never be the same.
Â
All things must end,
And in their ending; die.
To love in life is to have a friend,
To sit a while where roses lie.
Â
As rivers camber around emerald bend
And nestlings grow to kiss the sky;
To love in life is to have a friend,
To sit a while where roses lie.
