Where were you

When my first crush tore up my poem, where were you?

When all the boys made fun of me at school, where were you?

When it was time for my first, grade school dance and no One asked me, where were you?

When I was waiting for my first date and no one ever asked me, where were you?

When I was looking for love and couldn’t find it. Where were you?

I looked for you forever; I thought I saw a glimpse of you here and there,

But I was sadly mistaken.

I could not find you anywhere, even though I was used, hurt, and abused it didn’t matter, because no matter what I had to find you.

All those years I kept asking the same three words. Where were you? And it took a simple prayer to God to get the answer I needed., It took 53 years for me to find you and nothing short of God, or you is going to change that. Please my love don’t make me ask those words again, where were you?

AUTHOR WILLIAMS...

Lisa Zych,

" When I was looking for love and couldn’t find it. Where were you? " Hers is the most beautiful, elegant words which is most likely  to be heard from the life of everyone in this universe, and I am delighted to hear it from your olden pen via a fabulous lyric titled and asked as " Where were you ? "

May I read in between the lines of your poem: The true friendship between a man and a woman may not lead or end up in a marriage of a desire to be united and be as one, it may be a lifelong experience of the greatest value to themselves and to all their circle of acquaintance and activities; but for this type of companionship both a rare man and a rare woman are needed. Perhaps, it should be added that either the man or the woman thus deeply spring in lifelong friendship who seeks marriage must find a still rarer man or woman to be in life forever, to make such a three cornered friendship a permanent success.. Good write, a evergreen romantic lyric, Congrats, Regards from WILLIAMSJI MAVELI
