WHILE YOU SLEEP

WHILE YOU SLEEP

I rolled out of bed
Early Sunday morning
Leaving your still snuggled
With you pillow tight in your arms

Our night was exhausting and long
But they were no complaints
As we swayed all night
To our favorite love songs

You looked so peaceful and satisfied
Laying there
With the nights love that we shared

What a compliment
To the vase of colorful roses
Was The strands of  your hair
Beautifully scattered on the pillow
As the robin sings a melody
On the windowpane

I stumbled through the kitchen
With a smile
Thinking how blessed I was
To have you by my side

As I prepared breakfast for two
Scrambled eggs, pancakes,
Bacon and strawberries
I could not stop thinking
How much I love you.
