Whistler’s Mother

Whistler’s Mother

Whistler‘s Mother is a painting
Like no other as she sits in her chair
The colors are so fair in the painting
As she stares out in  to space
As she sits in place.

They talk about the painting
Today they say the colors
Come out wonderful and they
Wonder why she sits and what she thinks and says after that day
Whistlers Mother with all the people
Would come and  smother around the painting
They wonder if she had a brother
Whistler‘s Mother‘s painting.

Very mysterious picture, I can see why it was a perfect candidate for a poem. So much is left to be wondered. Great poem Greg and thanks for sharing a painting I might’ve never known about if not for you. ~Rob
