"White"

They tell me I am beautiful,
but they're not looking at my face.
They tell me I am pretty for a girl of my race.
People wonder why I don't get offended,
but that's just me.
Is it wrong that I want to live my life drama free?
Nah, that's not wrong.
What's wrong is that I fit in places society says are wrong.
What's wrong is that I'm a black girl with a proper voice,
and that black guys aren't my first choice.
Society is mad that I'm not ghetto per se,
that I dress different and tend to act in what they call a "white" way.
But how exactly am I supposed to be?
A girl who wears extra tight clothing and can't breath?
A girl who always wants to fight?
Nah, that's not me,
I'm sorry I act "white"
I'm sorry that I believe love has no gender.
I believe that love can be a bit tender.
Sometimes I cry and can be a bitch,
but you don't get to take some of me,
You get all of it.
So what if I was different,
I was made to stand out.
So I'm sorry if you're just one of the people I don't give a damn about.
